Cookies and Brownies and Protein? Oh My!

I love cookies. I love brownies. I am a fan of the baked goodies. And I don't care who knows it!

However, enjoying the sweet baked goodness while trying to lose weight or live a healthier lifestyle can be a difficult conundrum. Torn between lower calorie options that substitute whole food goodness with fake sugars and chemicals and transfats or just loving up the higher calorie baked deliciousness that still lacks nutritional benefits can be difficult. The truth is that for a number of years I opted for the lower calorie Frankenfood. Unfortunately, these fake foods not only didn't satisfy me, but filled my body full of chemicals!

The Protein Bakery has found a way to pack an additional nutritional punch to some of my favorite baked goodies while maintaining a list of quality ingredients. Stephen Charles Lincoln, creator of The Protein Bakery, says "The best food is made of the best ingredients." All of the products are trans-fat free, wheat-free, high in dietary fiber, and also contain 5 times more protein than your average cookie.

Here is just a few of the goodies that The Protein Bakery makes: Peanut Butter Cookies, Peanut Butter Brownies, Brownies with White Chocolate Chips, Espresso Brownies with Cappuccino Chips, Trail Mix Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I rarely promote cookies and brownies as a snack, but I am excited about the ingredients and the quality of The Protein Bakery products. While the brownies and larger cookies could actually be two servings (or even three!), I have substituted these as a mini meal when I am hungry and only a baked goodies can compensate. With the higher fiber content and protein content, when enjoyed with a glass of water it becomes a filling snack.

The nutritional information varies for each of their baked goods. You can check out the calorie count and ingredients on their web site.

Check out how delicious that looks!!! And all of the goodies I have tried taste just as fantastic as they look. And they make great gifts! You can check out their online store to order or contact them to find out which locations near you carry The Protein Bakery goodies. You can also get special offers and information by signing up for their newsletter!

As I munch on one of the chocolate chip cookies before heading off to the gym, I am getting to indulge while benefiting my body at the same time!

Disclaimer:

I get asked by readers if I am being paid to push products. The simple answer is no. In fact, most of the products I write about are ones I have found and purchased during my trips to the grocery store or on the road. Occasionally, a company will send a sample my way and if I believe the product will serve a need for my readers and I would buy the product myself, then I will share it with you. Sometimes I will write to a company after reading about it, if I believe it will help us lead healthier lifestyles. But even then, if the product doesn't pass my scrutiny, it won't make the screen of Uncovering Food. You can trust that every product or recipe posted here has passed through my lips, and that I wouldn't blog about it if it wasn't worthy of you... my favorite readers.
