A Unique Twist
When I travel for work, I make it my job (haha) to find some new and delicious item to share with all of you. In this case, the item I found in the Whole Foods by Union Square isn't new. In fact, the family bakery has been around since the late 1800's.
The Spannuth Family calls them "Splits," but I just call them delicious! The Multi Grain "Splits" are crunchy, salty, and have that nutty whole goodness taste that I haven't found in another hard pretzel (and trust me, I have eaten my share!). They have a unique story about how the "Splits" came to life... can you believe it was a mistake? Well some mistakes make the perfect snack :o)
When I returned home, I discovered my local Whole Foods doesn't carry them! Luckily, you can order these bad boys online. I can't wait to try out their other products (seriously... they have these babies CHOCOLATE COVERED and a couple delish sounding dips!).
3 good sized pretzels are 115 calories, 2 grams of fat, 1 gram of fiber and 3 grams of protein. Ingredients: Unbleched Wheat Flour, Water, Grain Blend (Oat Flour, Cracked Wheat, Barley Flakes, Corn Meal, Wheat Gluten, Rye Meal, Flax Seed, Millet, Sesame Seed, Malt, Spices, Salt), Soybean Oil, Salt, Yeast, Soda.

Disclaimer:
I get asked by readers if I am being paid to push products. The simple answer is no. In fact, most of the products I write about are ones I have found and purchased during my trips to the grocery store or on the road. Occasionally, a company will send a sample my way and if I believe the product will serve a need for my readers and I would buy the product myself, then I will share it with you. Sometimes I will write to a company after reading about it, if I believe it will help us lead healthier lifestyles. But even then, if the product doesn't pass my scrutiny, it won't make the screen of Uncovering Food. You can trust that every product or recipe posted here has passed through my lips, and that I wouldn't blog about it if it wasn't worthy of you... my favorite readers.

thats cool always nice to find new snacks
You shouldn't tell me that three pretzels have 115 calories, because believe you me, the way I love pretzels, I'd be hard pressed to stop at a mere three. ;)
I love pretzels; I'm going to check these out ASAP.
